Like almost every city, town & village in the country, Scredington suffered it’s own losses during wartime. St Andrews Church in the village contains a memorial to those who lost their lives during “The Great War” (the First World War 1914-1919) and lists the men of Scredington who sadly did not return from the fighting. The memorial was originally in the Chapel but was moved to the Church when the Chapel was turned into a private home.
You can click on the names of the Scredington men below to find out some more about them. This information has been collated and compiled by Peter Griffiths, who has kindly passed it on to be featured on the website.
